Yu Xuehui, general manager of Cixi Home Appliances Store, said with a smile that with TikTok realizing a closed loop of e-commerce, many products have exploded out of the industry. Especially since the US market exploded after September last year, many small home appliance buyers came to them. Recently, there has been an endless stream of customers coming to Cixi Home Appliances Store. To this end, Yu Xuehui has specially opened a "cross-border spot area" and plans to sort out 100 products every month to meet the needs of these customers.
It's not just the Cixi Home Appliances Store that feels the "spring spirit". In the air fryer production workshop of Huayu Electrical Appliances Group Co., Ltd., the automated pot production line is stamping and forming aluminum pot bodies one by one.
"These products will be sent to Europe soon." Liu Jianguo, deputy general manager of Huayu Electrical Appliances Group Co., Ltd., said that since last year, foreign short videos have become popular, which has also boosted the sales of air fryers. Last year, Huayu Electric’s air fryer exports reached US$45.621 million, accounting for 44.6% of the company’s total exports, a year-on-year increase of 103.2%.
This is not an isolated case. Cixi Customs statistics show that last year, Cixi's home appliance exports reached 26.13 billion yuan, accounting for 32.6% of the city's total exports, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%. Among them, the export value of air fryer single product reached 5.46 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.9%, ranking first in Cixi's export of home appliances.
Why is Cixi home appliance export so successful?
"Behind this is Cixi's solid industrial foundation and the continuous acceleration of transformation and upgrading." According to the relevant person in charge of the Cixi Economic and Information Bureau, the secret to the vigorous development of Cixi's home appliance industry lies in its solid foundation, new ideas, and quick response.
With more than 2,000 complete home appliance companies, nearly 10,000 supporting companies, more than 20 product series, and thousands of varieties, Cixi Home Appliances manufactures about 60% of the world's small home appliances, and the market size has exceeded 100 billion yuan. It produces multiple sub-categories such as electric irons, hair dryers, and electric heaters, ranking first in the world in terms of output.
However, this did not stop Cixi Home Appliances.
Taking R&D innovation as a breakthrough point, many Cixi small home appliance companies have achieved industry leadership in technology.
Take Ningbo Ding'an Electric Co., Ltd. as an example. As a company mainly engaged in water purifiers, its pioneering pop-up filter technology has solved the industry problem of cumbersome replacement of water purifier filter elements.
Data show that since last year, Cixi enterprises have presided over the formulation and revision of 7 national standards and participated in the formulation and revision of 75 national standards, setting a record high. Among them, there are two Cixi small household appliance companies that preside over the formulation and revision of national standards.
It requires both product innovation and channel innovation.
By tapping into overseas small customers who frequently purchase batches, and using overseas warehouses for drop shipping, Cixi Home Appliances Store is changing its strategy to send more real estate small home appliances to the other side of the ocean.
“We have reached an agreement with 100 real estate small household appliance companies and branch offices in New Zealand and Italy, and plan to establish product selection centers and shared overseas warehouses in industrial belts in Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Malaysia to collect and distribute spot goods for export products. " Talking about seizing the "window period" of the live broadcast economy, Yu Xuehui is confident that Cixi small home appliances will break through. In the next step, Cixi Home Appliances Museum will use the "Industrial Belt + Cross-border E-commerce" and "Industrial Belt + Live E-commerce" models to continue to tap the potential of domestic and foreign markets and seize new opportunities for high-quality development of the smart home industry.
